  18. <p>     Dizzy Gillespie, 72, can sleep anywhere--even standing up.
  19. A good thing too, because the legendary king of bebop will log
  20. 300,000 miles this year hitting high notes in some 200 concerts
  21. from Monterey to Moscow. For his first major film role--in
  22. the upcoming Winter in Lisbon--the tireless trumpeter
  23. portrays an aging jazz musician who's disillusioned by life in
  24. the U.S. and moves to Europe. An outspoken critic of racism,
  25. Gillespie has "been tempted to leave several times." He stayed
  26. on because "my wife didn't want to move." How's that for making
  27. harmony?
